Part-TIME

Café & Play Team Member

This blended position includes customer service, café duties and caring for our play environment. No two shifts will look exactly the same!

Responsibilities Include:

Warmly welcome families and help them check in
Prepare coffee, specialty drinks and simple café items
Serve food while carefully following our allergen procedures
Answer questions about play sessions, memberships, parties and events
Keep the café, play areas and washrooms clean and inviting
Sanitize toys and frequently touched surfaces
Monitor the play space and kindly reinforce café rules
Assist with birthday parties, workshops and community events
Process payments and use our point-of-sale system
Complete opening, closing and daily cleaning tasks
Help create a positive experience for every child and caregiver

We’re Looking for Someone Who Is:

Friendly, patient and comfortable around young children
Reliable, organized and able to take initiative
Calm and professional in a busy family environment
Committed to cleanliness, safety and excellent customer service
Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
Willing to learn about allergen awareness and cross-contact prevention
Available for a combination of weekday and weekend shifts

Qualifications:

Previous café, food service, retail, childcare or customer-service experience is an asset
Barista experience is helpful but not required—training will be provided
A valid Food Handler Certificate is an asset or must be obtained as required
First Aid and CPR certification is an asset
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Must be able to complete the physical duties of the position, with reasonable accommodation where required
